Profile of Judson King Smith at The House of Miraculous Recovery exhibition, Transmission Gallery, Oakland, CA.

Through sculptural assemblages I explore the intersection of the petroleum age, industrial archaeology, climate crisis, and the human psyche. My sculptures embody decay and contemplate humanity's creations deteriorating over time. Inspired by a childhood vision of the modern world as a future archaeological discovery, I combine abstract and figurative elements, incorporating found objects like bones, circuit boards, and dinosaur figurines. These creations emphasize the interconnectedness of humans, nature, and technology, inviting reflection on the delicate balance between human progress and environmental decline. Each sculpture serves as a tribute to the passage of time and the impermanence of human existence.
