About Judson King Smith

Judson King Smith (b.1969) is an American visual artist influenced by the tradition of California assemblage art. Born and raised by artists in Los Angeles, Judson was drawn to found objects, industrial relics, Hollywood movie sets, miniatures, and museum installations.

As a teenager Judson was exposed to the work of Ed Kienholz and Rebecca Horn and became compelled to be a fine artist. As a young sculptor he became profoundly influenced by the work of Michael C. McMillen.

Judson has continued to explore the theme of his artwork creating sculptures and environments that explore archaeology, the human condition, religion, war and history.

His work has been in group and solo exhibitions throughout the United States and the UK and various pieces are held in private collections.
